List of Alkaline Foods

With your package of pH test strips you will receive a list of alkaline foods and chemicals. It will help you to create a pH balanced alkaline diet. The list rating acid and alkaline forming foods as included in the package was taken with permission from the book "Return to the joy of health" by Zoltan P. Rona MD, MSc., publshed by Alive Publishing Group Inc.

Whether you need high alkaline forming foods or high acid forming foods depends on your current pH level, as show on our pH test strips. Here are some of the items on the acid alkaline food chart:

Some of the Highest Acid Forming Foods / Chemicals:

Antibiotics
Ice cream
Processed cheese
Soybeans

Some of the Lowest Acid Forming Foods / Chemicals:

Fish
Honey
Pineapple
Yoghurt

Some of the Highest Alkaline Forming Foods / Chemicals:

Onion
Sweet patato/yam
Table salt
Watermelon

Some of the Lowest Alkaline Forming Foods / Chemicals:

Banana
Blueberry
Olive oil
Wild rice

NOTE: Alkaline forming foods are not necessarily alkaline themselves. Lemons or lemon juice for instance are quite acidic, but highly alkaline forming in the body. Not all alkaline forming foods are necessarily recommended, such as hydrogenated oil or table salt.

A much longer list of alkaline and acid forming foods can be found included with our packages of pH test strips.
